Ramblings on the Wires - April 11, 2006

. . . from February 2003 Until just after the war started.

February 20,2003
Today I must say what I feel, the world is disillusioned. Most people believe a war with will have a favorable outcome. Throughout history that has not been the case. Why would we think so now?

Today it’s all politics and our voices will not be heard . . . When the body bags start that will be too late. There are a lot of maybe’s. Our politicians need to be held accountable for every death . . . Slowly are educated are realizing we have allowed to gain a foothold and today we have a dictator. It won’t end well . . .

Today the President held a press conference. And maybe for the first time, I think he might actually understand. It’s not that half the people are against war, half are against not having solidarity with the UN. Only the UN can the US legitimacy to make world policy changes . . . The next couple of days will tell. Pride is a tough thing to swallow. If Iraq doesn’t disarm after another resolution, then a regime change will take place. If President Bush plays his cards right, he will go down in history as the man who brought peace to the Middle East.

Today, there are peace rallies all over the world . . . War is in the wind.

, though some
have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so;
For those whom thou think’st thou
dost overthrow
Die not, poor Death; not yet canst
thou kill me.
From Rest and Sleep, which but they
picture be,
Much pleasure, then from thee much more
must flow;
And soonest our best man with
thee do go –
Rest of their bones and Soul’s delivery!
Thou’rt slave to fate, chance, kings,
and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and
sickness dwell;
And poppy or charms can make us
sleep as well
And better than they stroke. Why
swell’st thou then?
One short sleep past, we make
eternally,
And Death shall be no more; Death
thou shalt die!

to Iraq was made. Now we wait for the eventual war and somebody is going to die. I will cry . . . No one will win . . .

I haven't been able to write, the war hasn’t allowed me to write, to think. The media coverage is horrendous. Every minute of every day. The policy is so wrong . . .
