Still Cancer-Free . . .

Still CANCER-FREE . . .

After a year my baby boy is still CANCER-FREE . . . My boy is now nineteen, going to college. And every four months we sit and worry through those TESTS. Scans of every kind, it takes a whole day. I’m not complaining, my baby boy is still CANCER-FREE.

CANCER is still a killer, though research has made remarkable strides in the last five years. And more importantly, families don’t feel so alone, not so isolated any more . . .

Sure you still lose friends, but new friends are gained also and so is that new found wisdom. And now there’s a regimented procedure for most kinds of CANCER. How much Chemo is necessary? How much radiation? Surgery? Sure there’s still the hair loss, but the side effects such as nausea is manageable.

The studies have created guidelines for the cure. That means to you and me, there’s HOPE, there’s survivors . . . No more just lying down and rolling over one last time . . . They know how to fight the BIG-C.

I’ve learned that CANCER is about survival, survival of the fittest, a fight of tooth and fang. Whoever tires first is going to be the loser . . . And attitude is all of it.
